Adelaide radio has embarked on a new chapter, with Mix102.3 officially relaunching as KIIS 1023 today.
The opening broadcast saw South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas formally switch on KIIS 1023 and host the station’s first hour from 8am to 9am.
The launch of Adelaide’s newest radio station was celebrated with a series of firsts, including the very first song played on KIIS 1023 with Get It Done by South Australia’s own Guy Sebastian, marking the official start of the station.
Listeners also heard the Premier give away the first major prize on KIIS 1023, a set of Ed Sheeran double passes, framed as part of the launch celebration.
Callers who made it to air during the hour were awarded a ‘KIIS Day,’ a symbolic day off given to them by the Premier himself to mark the station’s debut.

KIIS 1023’s Breakfast program will air from 6am to 10am weekdays and be hosted by South Australian media personality Bec Morse. Bec will lead a Most Music Breakfast as the station counts down to the highly anticipated return of one of Australia’s most recognisable radio duos later in the year.
From 1 April, Ben & Liam will officially return to Adelaide radio, taking over the breakfast program on KIIS 1023 (as Radio Today reported earlier this month – Nova has enforced a non-compete clause in Ben and Liam‘s contract, preventing them from going to air on the KIIS Adelaide breakfast show until after the exclusion period).
Across the workday, KIIS 1023 will remain local, with Ryan ‘Burgo’ Burgess hosting weekday’s from 10am to 3pm, playing a soundtrack shaped for Adelaide’s workday and reinforcing the station’s commitment to local voices and content.
